Orcombe Point - 0615 - a memorable morning birding with Derek Carter this morning. Very cold on arrival with few birds but migrants streaming in by the time we left at around 0945. Undoubted highlight was the stone curlew found in the 'top fields' along Gore Lane (still present 10am at least). The bird is in the large flat stubble field on the right hand side, viewable from the gateway (please do not enter field). Also this morning 9+ robin, 1 blackcap, 22+ chiffchaff (new birds arriving all the time), c30+ meadow pipit, 2+ song thrush, 2 alba wagtail, 1 swallow, 10+ wheatear (with several more reported in top fields after we'd gone), 22+ sand martin east, 5+ goldcrest, 10+ greenfinch, 2 black redstart, 1 siskin, and 21+ chaffinch.
