Thurlestone Bay

Normal Sunday morning- cold strong E wind and showers - turned into a very good day with the sighting of an Avocet resting on the rocks at 11.15 ( only the third patch record in 9 years ) 14 Turnstone also on the rocks . Big reduction in duck - on South Huish Marsh only 12 Teal, 5 Wigeon and the male Pintail, 5 Snipe. Whist walking along the lane picked up a Firecrest on call in the hedgerow- very brief in flight views.
