In a burst of enthusiasm (must be spring!) I pottered down to Wrafton Pond this evening on the off chance of an early Sand Martin. Walking along the trail to the pond, a Dipper in the river, and then a Water Rail in a muddy puddle right by the trail, (seen even better on leaving). No Sand Martins, but still 5 Gadwall and 3 Shoveler. A quick drive out along the marsh road produced a Little Owl.
