Wrafton pond area
Early start today as I turned up at the pond before sunrise. Very little on the pond, just two Swans and a few Mallard. On the Scrape there were a few Teal, a couple of Shoveler (1m +1f) and two Black-tailed Godwit. In the trees and bushes either side of the path were two Long-tailed tits, a Robin, a female Bulfinch a few Blackbirds and a couple of Magpies, Later, I walked out to Horsey Island where there were 12-15 Shelduck, a Little Egret, many Chaffinches, two Little Grebe and the highlight was a sighting of the Marsh Harrier. Later morning moved on the Fremington Pill where there were Two Greenshank, one Spotted Redshank, one Curlew and a few Oystercatchers, Teal and Black-tailed Godwits. Late afternoon at Instow there were more Oystercatchers and a dozen or so Sanderling.
