Thorne Moor - W.Putford N.Devon

Super walk today - glorious sunshine but biting wind from time to time. Above Haytown - Willow Tit singing loudly from tangled woods by road, 2 ravens honking and barrel rolling low enough to hear wing beats, at least 60 Lapwing together with 200 Golden Plover (probably more of both over brow) plus scattered fieldfares in a field with new crop growth and much exposed soil. 2 mistle thrushes in field by Putford bridge. Thorne Moor - single snipe on muddy track and a bullfinch quietly calling, which very nicely rounded things off.
