Fingle Bridge, N.Dartmoor

24 members of DB attended the East Devon Branch fieldtrip to the Teign Valley today and took the north path up river to the footbridge and then the high walk below Castle Drogo.  The path on the southern bank was closed due to repair work but this is due to open again in the next day or so.

The main birds of interest came from Dipper, Nuthatch, Grey Wagtail, Treecreeper, Goldcrest, Buzzard, Raven, Mistle Thrush, Sparrow Hawk and Goosander.   Several species were seen in multiple numbers.  An informal count of 21 species was made for the day (which meant there were more of us than bird species) but an enjoyable day was nevertheless had.
