Exe & Yarner

A good day on the River Exe estuary today.

Cockwood ~ Eider duck and Great Norther Diver on the Exe, on the roadside fields, Oyster Catcher, Curlew, Redshank, Greenshank, Wigeon, Teal, Brent Geese, Lapwing and Sparrow Hawk.

 

Powderham to Turf Lock on the dropping tide ~ Large numbers of Black Tailed Godwit (three colour tagged birds) and Brent Geese, Curlew, the reported two Snow Geese still with a small flock of Canada Geese but some 400 yards from the footpath , Redshank, Kingfisher, Cormorant, Red Breasted Merganser (6) Dunlin, Grey Plover, Oyster Catcher, Avocet, Heron and Lapwing.

Yarner ~ A good day for raptor watching with at least six Buzzards soaring over the valley.
