Yarner Wood and the River teign

Yarner and Trendlebere Down ~ a cold and icy start to the day, two flocks of Long Tailed Tit giving a total of 15 birds, at the top of the wood 40 plus Redpoll feeding in the tops of the birch trees, male Bullfinch and Coal Tit.

On the Down in initially five Snipe put up followed by another three which may have been some of the same birds, Heron overhead, Green Woodpecker calling, from the car park area

Teigngrace six Little Egret and four Cattle Egret at Blatchford farm, along with Pied Wagtail, Redwing, nineteen Magpie and two Canadian Geese.

River Teign ~ Passage House Inn, a pair of Red Breasted Merganser, two Greenshank, seven Redshank one little Egret.

On the sea off of Shaldon a Great Norther Diver.

On the River Teign viewed from around Coombe Cellars, fifteen plus Redbreasted Merganser, two Greenshank, fourteen Redshank, five Avocet the first I have ever seen on the Teign, five Heron, one Little Egret, ninety one Curlew, Gulls included nine Greater Black Back, four plus Common and a Mediterranean coming into summer plumage. Numerous Oyster Catcher and Shellduck.

Back home at South Brent a male Reed Bunting for the third day in a row, Nuthatch and a pair of Siskins on the feeders (Monday gave a male Blackcap).
