Paignton & Brixham

Clennon Valley this morning gave a Sparrowhawk being mobbed by a Carrion Crow as a starter, two Buzzards overhead, a very pale but distant Chiffchaff, three Snipe, three Teal, two Kingfisher fly pasts, juvenile Heron and a Little Egret.

Broadsands was a nonstarter with dogs running loose and a remote control car where the Cirl Buntings feed, to top that a hen Sparrowhawk came hunting down the hedge, male Reed Bunting showed briefly as did a single Cirl Bunting, Buzzard over the field beyond the car park and another two seen on the way out.

The juvenile Glaucous Gull was showing well on the roof of Brixham fish quay, best viewed from the sailing club car park, reasonable number of Great Black-backed Gulls but very little else to see, only the one Seal seen in the harbour, a soaring pair of Buzzards resulted in a panic scramble by the resident gull population.
