Bowling Green Marsh

An incredible amount of water has arrived on the marsh in the last 24 hours. The water depth marker was just sticking out of the water. This meant that a lot of the waders were very close in including a good number of Avocets. Several Snipe were showing well along with a few Grey Plover in amongst the Godwits, Redshank and Dunlin. Not that many ducks but I suppose they have plenty of other places to visit at the moment! A quick look at Goosemoor revealed a lone Greenshank and a Sparrowhawk that made an unsuccesful attempt to grap a Snipe.
