High water levels and a persistent peregrine made counts hard but the 1st winter drake American Wigeon did drop in and was viewable from the hide over towards the railway line around 700+ wigeon spread over the marsh , 30+ Pintail, 2 pochards. 2 tufted duck, 1 gadwall, 60+ shoveler. 200+ teal, 2 spotted redshanks among 200+ redshank, 550+ avocet, 80+ dunlin, 30+ lapwing, 1000+ black tailed godwits, 100+ bar tailed godwits, 5+ common gulls over, 3 snipe, 2 Cetti's warblers, 1 water rail, 35+ chaffinch, 3 mistle thrush, 2 song thrush, 20+ redwing, 5 goldcrests, 2 nuthatch, 200+ Brent geese over , 10+ Brent greese in field by the viewing platform.
