Great birding round the Exe at christmas...

My Mum, Dad and I went round the goatwalk first and found: 200+ Avocet; 50+ Dunlin; 100+ Black-Tailed Godwit; 50+ Redshank and all the other birds. 

Next the viewing platform: Dad said there wasn't much: 2 Kingfisher; 1 Spotted Redshank; 50+ Redshank; 100+ Black-Tailed Godwit and a few other regulars

Now to the Bearded Tits... 10-15 birds flew over me calling the diagnostic ping then landed in the reeds out of view but I was able to see the long tail and chubby tummy! They landed around the centre of the reed beds. Large flock of Brent flew over and possible sighting of a Penduline Tit in a small patch of reeds...

Great day out at Christmas, definitely getting cooler!
