Hope's Nose, Torquay

2-4pm. Sewer flowing very strongly. Flocks of herring and black headed gulls, but nothing more exciting than one or two common gulls, a lesser blackback (surprisingly scarce here) and  small groups of kittiwakes and a few gannets still passing. Farther out, 1 imm male eider feeding south of flat rock and a porpoise in water beyond the sewage slick. Other birds seen, pair stonechat, small numbers redwing and a buzzard. A male black redstart was reported to us in the cove on south side.
