Good selection of birds in the reserve today: Goldcrest, at least 3 Song Thrushes, GS Woodpecker after seeing 2 together yesterday. Calling Cetti's Warbler, Good numbers of the 4 common Finches. Two each of Stonechats, Meadow Pipits and Pied Wagtails in the field outside the reserve - attracted by the cattle? Kestrel and Buzzard present. As I was leaving a couple of small birds attracted my attention - both were Chiffchaffs, then a third joined in the chase around and eventually there were I think 5, two of which flew out into the reed-bed on the south side of the reserve. Lots of Starlings with the cattle as I left.
