Gibbet Hill

Huge flock of Golden Plover, well over a thousand strong, wheeling and floating and peeping to each other over Gibbet Hill near Brentor this afternoon. Smaller flocks breaking away, then reforming then, breaking up again, and all the while circling roughly over the same spot for about 25 minutes. Looking for all the world as if they were just enjoying the experience of flying in the stiff southerly breeze.
