A very good day on Dartmoor, doing a field trip reconnaisance for the Exeter RSPB local group with Cilla Ingram. We must have seen literally hundreds of Fieldfare during the day.  One pair of fields near Runnage Farm, Postbridge was covered with both Fieldfares and Redwings.  Another highlight was a fair number of Brambling under some beech trees near the entrance track to Soussons Farm. Moving on to Bellever forest, we had excellent views of about a dozen Crossbills feeding near the top of a fir tree.  There were more Fieldfares at Dunnabridge pound, and a flock of 42 Golden Plover. Dartmeet gave us good sightings of Treecreeper, Nuthatch and Marsh Tit, with Grey Wagtail on the river - the latter also seen in several other places during the day.
