South Brent to Brixham

South Brent to Brixham yesterday gave counts of 25 and 39 Herring Gull over South Brent in the morning and four Raven over home. The gull numbers have been reasonably scarce since the summer.

The flood meadow at Dartington Drive gave a larger number of Mallard along with six Canadia geese and 13 Wigeon.

Brixham inner harbour a counted 33 Turnstone, Rock Pipit and Pied Wagtail.

Berry Head was subjected to very strong winds and very little seen, three Pheasant, a slow but steady trickle of ones and twos of both Meadow and Rock Pipits coming in off the sea. A few Redwing.

The staff at the visitor centre report that a Short Eared owl as present on both the 1st and 7th November.

A small trawler off Brixham was surrounded by Gulls and was attracting Gannets in a steady stream of ones and two’s.

On leaving a counted flock of 100 plus Woodpigeons swept low over the headland and went out to sea.
