Exe Estuary Cruise

The first Stuart Lines cruise of the winter proved to be a good one. In the estuary mouth, just off the seaward side of the Warren, was a Long-tailed Duck (f/imm) and inside the estuary a Great Northern Diver initially near Exmouth, later near Cockwood. Also seen: 2 G C Grebes, Little Grebe, probably >50 Shags, c15 Mergansers, Peregrine, c250 Avocets, >200 Lapwings, 6 Golden Plover, c15 Grey Plover, hundreds of Brent Geese, Wigeon, Dunlin, Redshank and Black-tailed Godwit, c8 Bar-tails, 2 Greenshank, 6 Lesser Black-backs and c25 Common Gulls.
