Prawle

The 5 Greylag Geese , seen on Monday , were still present in the field next to the Airfields by Vinivers Cross-relocated just as I was on the point of leaving at 3pm ! Looking wary and keeping together with one of them stretching its neck in order to keep guard. Also 14 Golden Plover and 75 Lapwing flew overhead.

I relocated the Water Pipit , found on Sunday, on the beach at Horsley Cove at the eastern end and a Knot. Elsewhere, a Redwing, Fieldfare, 3 Song Thrushes, 2 Chiffchaffs, female Reed Bunting,32 Mallard and 2 Teal. Alas, no rare wheatears . Dull, overcast, slight breeze , Prawle had the distinct feel of winter.
