Stover Country park

A walk round the lake at Stover today turned up a female Manadarin duck feeding with the Mallards to the left of the hide, this was the first Mandarin that I have seen at Stover. Large numbers of Black Headed Gulls, one Lesser Black Back and one juvenile Herring gull on the lake, juvenile Great Crested Grebe. Marsh Tits showing well and calling at a couple of locations, a BTO rung Great Tit with an almost pure white tail was a bit of an oddity by the feeding station where there were a large numbers of both Great and Blue Tits, the odd Coal and Marsh Tit the feeder was empty and birds were coming onto the platform to take seed that had been put down by visitors. Buzzard, Jay and Nuthatch showed well.

On leaving small group of Goldcrest observed more could be heard calling.
