River Caen/River Taw

0930-1245. Despite the shooters it was a day of quality birding. Sherpa marsh held 8 Teal,3 Common sandpiper and 4 Little grebe. Also around 4 Stonechat,2 Buzzard,2 Kestrel. Braunton marsh held 1000+ Starling, 18 Stockdove and feeding on berrys were 40+ Fieldfare and a RING OUZEL ( my first in n-devon ). On the taw 2 to 3000 Golden plover, 2000 Lapwing, 25 Redshank,5 Greenshank,33 Shellduck,150+ Canada goose, 15 Brent goose, 25 Dunlin and a female MERLIN. While watching the merlin at the mouth of the caen i found my spot of the day an OTTER  which i watched for 30 mins
