Beesands Ley

15 November - 11.00 am
The juvenile Long-tailed Duck still present with numbers of Coot and Tufted Duck.

A bittern flew in from the shore-line and crossed the Ley before settling into the reeds and scrub in the left hand corner (looking from the hide). A fine sight in the sunshine.

Behind the hide, moving between a hedge row and a beet field being turned over by grazing cattle, good numbers of small passerines feeding on the insects being disturbed - Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Stonechat, Blue Tit, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Robin - delightful. Cetti's calling too.
