Baggy Pt > Putsborough

While talking to Brian & Liz Weston yesterday aft after a bird trip to Isley Marsh they gave an excellent description of a small flock of up to 6 white finch like birds which landed within a few feet away & were very tame while walking the coastal footpath between Baggy Point & Putsborough around midday on Saturday 01 Nov 2014.I immediately thought Snow Buntings & asked them to check the bird books + google photos & videos which they did when they got home. They emailed me later to confirm that they were Snow Buntings that they had seen.

Earlier this morning during a window between the heavy  showers I walked out along the coastal path to where they had been seen & no sign of them anywhere so they must have moved on. There is a good chance they will be seen again in another location.

1 Merlin at the start of my walk to Baggy Pt this morning.
