Avon Dam,South Brent

Having missed Ring Ouzels in both spring and autumn (so far) I took a trip up to Avon Dam from Shipley Bridge , thanks to the recent postings but left Plymouth at c 11am given the wet weather. A lovely walk in autumnal sunshine I arrived at the dam about 12.30 noticing quite a few Blackbirds en route (c 12) and Goldcrests calling at regular intervals. At the Dam ,heavy rain and hail showers notwithstanding, 4 Ring Ouzels seen ( at one time  watching , now with Mark D. and Adele, 3 Ouzels comically flew from the trees immediately below the Dam and landed on the Dam wall itself.) Also 1 Fieldfare , 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a heavily ringed Dipper ( silver on LL and a Red and Green Ring on RL) and 3 Kestrels. Lovely walk , must come here again.
