Sherpa Marsh & Taw Estuary

2 Marsh Harriers, both hunting over Sherpa Marsh nearing dusk. Good numbers of Lapwing (several hundred) on the field adjoining Chivenor. 15 Snipe, 10 Teal, 4 Wigeon and 50+ Redshank on the estuary fringes. Best bird, however, was a Short-eared Owl seen taking flight from the high tide mark opposite Chivenor firing range. Circled over the field putting up the majority of the Lapwing before flying over the Caen towards Braunton Burrows.
