Went for a nice long walk on Dartmoor, but as I was nearby  couldn't resist a look into Soussans vallly. There I found a Great Grey Shrike, posing on the Rowans and making forays at flying insects. [ SX684806] In case it's there tomorrow, take the the path S. from Bennets cross and walk along the vally bottom, it was about 200 yards N. of the forestry gate. Back up on Hamel Down a Red Grouse was flushed by a dog, first Ive seen for 7 years, and I'm a regular! Elsewhere 2 Snipe 50+ Redwing and an oddity, a bat flying around in brilliant sunshine over Challacombe at 1330!
