Powderham Marshes, Exminster

A brief visit this morning to view the stubbles and bird-food crops. The crops look excellent and will surely tempt the finches. Bird numbers yet to build but c110 linnets, c12 goldfinches, 2 green finches, a few reed buntings and one cirl bunting is a start. Also present a sparrow hawk, kestrel and a couple of buzzards. Two green sandpipers were vocal and flying around. In the bushes at least 3 chiffchaffs, 2 goldcrests and a flock of long-tailed tits.
