Starcross and Exeter

Off Starcross and the Kenn outfall this morning were 9 R-b Mergansers, my first of the Winter, overlapping with the final 2 Sandwich Terns, plus the usual 50 + Turnstones, 10+ Greenshanks and a few Barwits.

At Countesswear, a Peregrine was on a pylon and 3 Common Sandpipers were in the river.

In St Leonards, my first 2 Redwings were heading S, 2 Water Rails were squealing from the flood channel, and a Dipper was hanging around Trews Weir for the third day in a row.
