Spent some time on R.Caen > Horsey this aft in strong WSW winds searching for the Spotted Sandpiper seen 10 days ago! No luck with the Spotted but found a Common Sandpiper instead on the east side of R.Caen.

Photo heavily cropped for comparison. Longer tail on Common Sandpiper. Edges of tertials have buff notching on Common; on Spotted they are plain. Note difference in leg colour, Spotted usually has yellower legs.
