Berry Head final seawatch totals

Coverage 07:10-15:10 with Mike Langman & Pete Aley.

Much distant feeding activity out in Lyme Bay after rain cleared bumped totals up to:

15 Bonxies (the last going into Tor Bay), Pomarine Skua (imm), 4 Arctic Skuas, 1 Pom/Arctic Skua, Diver sp., 4 Pale-bellied Brent Geese south and a dark-bellied north, c5 adult Mediterranean Gulls, c120 auks and c1200 Kittiwakes. Mammals: 5+ Harbour Porpoises, unidentfied Dolphins and a Grey Seal.

When walking back past the quarry a melodic song heard three times, but I failed to record or see it despite looking for the bird. But seemed like Red-billed Leiothrix, an escapee (I remember two there in Sep 1998)! Whatever it was, it shut up when a Merlin did a couple of passes hunting Goldfinches giving very close views.
