Horsey - late post

Over a week ago while doing a monthly WeBS count on R.Caen > Horsey

I took a few quick record shots of what I thought at the time was a single Common Sandpiper (not unusual at this location overwintering) & continued with the count. Over one week later I receive an email from Tim & Tim to say that eagle eyed Malcolm Shakespeare thinks it was a Spotted Sandpiper.

A big thank you to Malcolm for spotting the subtle differences between the two species which are very similar. Also many thanks to Tim & Tim & James for confirming identification. Thank God I took a camera with me on the count!
