Taw Estuary – Dalmatian Pelican

The Dalmatian Pelican remained loafing and preening on sandbanks in the Taw Estuary between Isley Marsh to the south and Horsey Island to the north, taking a couple of short flights to settle on the last vestiges of sand before the rising tide finally forced it to swim! Shortly before dark, at 19.02 hrs, it flew low, in a broad sweep almost directly over our heads, to roost on the deepest water at the Horsey Pond end of Horsey Island.
