PALLAS'S WARBLER at Bolt Head

1 Pallas's Warbler seen well but briefly in scrub along coast path just east of Bolt Head at 11.10 am. Bird was very mobile and rapidly disappeared upslope. Hopefully will turn up in more suitable sheltered spot at Stare Hole or East Soar.

Otherwise at east Soar/Stare Hole etc this am after a cold, grey start: 1 fem/imm Merlin (seen repeatedly), 1 Firecrest, several Goldcrests, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs, a couple of Wheatears, 50+ Swallows moving through, good numbers of Skylarks and Meadow Pipits (some movement) and 4 Ringed Plovers on the airfield.
