South Hams coastal area 30th September

Aveton Gifford large flocks of Canadian Geese and Herring Gulls, good numbers of Little Egret, 2 Heron, Common Sandpiper, 4 Greenshank.

South Huish Marsh single Ringed Plover, 4 Godwits, small number of Dunlin, Little Egrets, plenty of Meadow Pipits and Pied Wagtails, Robins singing at almost everywhere, good numbers of Stonechat, several flocks of Goldfinch, Sparrow hawk hunting over some scrub showing well, Teal showing well on the marsh. Heron seen flying over and another on the beach.

Soar Mill Cove, good numbers of both Linnet and Cirl Bunting, Pair of Raven over head and Buzzard soaring one of several seen during the day, hen Kestrel hovering just outside of the village. Chiffchaff.

Several other birders met all saying that "things were slow" but something worthwhile seen at each location visited.
