Bonaparte's Gull

At Dawlish Warren this afternoon (3.45pm), I saw an interesting- looking gull on the beach near groyne 14. Similar to a Black Headed, but key differences were black bill, big black smudge behind the eye, grey nape, slightly darker grey mantle/wings and pink legs. In flight, similar to BH with black primaries and a white wedge. Several BH gulls about for close comparison. Checked the field guide: Bonaparte's gull- a lifer for me!
