Exminster Marshes

Attempted to walk to Turf via the western path from the RSPB car park but was beaten by waterlogged fields near to Turf...(too deep even for welly boots) although water levels said to be dropping!  The road to the canal continues to be submerged at 'the bends' to depth of approx 12 inches.   Good numbers of Wigeon, Teal, and Lapwing present and also an estimated 8 Water Rail on the marsh.    Whooper Swan present at northern end. Total of 37 species seen.

DBWPS Members intending to attend fieldtrip to Exminster on Monday 22 Oct please note that  welly boots will be essential. Unless water levels drop in interval a limited walk is planned.
