Thurlestone Bay

Another dank day weather wise but some good birds .

On the rocks/ beach - 5 Turnstone, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank. 2ad Med Gull and 4 Shoveler flew west.

In the copse still 1 1st w male Redstart, 4 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler.

Whilst watching the Redstart Nick T and i had a female Hen Harrier fly over the marsh and up the valley.also 3 Jay.

On the roof of the flats by the carpark at 12.30 a female Black Redstart.

In a brief ringing session at 16.00 Bob caught 14 Chiffchaff.

Just rec'd info of a Garden Warbler ringed at South Milton Ley on 24 Aug. 2011 and controlled on Fair Isle Shetland on 27 May 2012-. The first time for a recovery this far north ( 650 miles )
