Berry Hd

Heart stopping moment of the morning was flushing a Stone Curlew from the very end of Berry Hd it flew back toward the meadow calling but after dashing back from the headland, there were only dog walkers and cattle to be found. I'm sure I heard it heading back out toward the headland but could not relocate it there either. I and others have checked the limited fields just behind the headland but again no sign.

Otherwise of interest: 1 male Redstart, 14 Chiffchaffs, 22 Goldcrest, 1 Blackcap, 2 Siskins.

A look over the sea whilst checking the quarry for migrants earlier produced: 1 juv Pomarine Skua and 2 Arctic Skuas harassing a feeding group of about 150-200 Kittiwakes also two ad Mediterranean Gulls and several Common Gull in the same area feeding.
