Around the Teign Estuary this Morning

Mid Estuary: Around 30 Red Breasted Mergansers swimming in a tight line, diving in 'waves', almost synchronised: difficult to count, I suspect more. The largest number I've seen on the estuary in twenty odd years of watching. Passage House: lots of gulls, Oystercatchers and Cormorants, highlights were a Little Grebe and a Common Sandpiper. Seafront: lots of gulls and Gannets. Quite a bit of human activity on the sea, so things were a bit further out. One Razorbill a few Guillemots, five Great Northern divers (one adult) and a single male Common Scoter towards the Parson and Clerk, Holcombe.
