Beesands and Slapton Leys

The drake Ring-necked Duck showed well at Beesands Ley prior to 11.40.

On the way, a Kingfisher perched close to the slipway/waiting area for the Higher Ferry at Kingswear.

At Slapton Ley:

Black-necked Grebe and at least 8 Goldeneyes from the Stokeley Bay Hide.  In Ireland Bay at least 50 Common Gulls and a further drake Goldeneye.  On the path to the quarry 2 Chiffchaffs.  In and around the quarry at least 1 Firecrest, 2 Goldcrests, 2 Redwings, 2 Song Thrushes and 2 Mistle Thrushes.

Nice to meet some local birders today at the various locations.  Hope my two boys didn't shatter the peace too much!
