Stover Goosanders

A dawn count this morning proved that Goosanders are spending the night at Stover, with 23 (4 drakes) present at first light. When feeding commenced at 07:55, most of them headed into the inlet, outlet and other narrow channels, where close views could be obtained. I've never come across Goosanders habituated to humans before, but I assume the presence of tame Mallards has helped them to come to terms with us! Great photo opportunities to be had there ....

Other birds included 2 Snipe, Kingfisher, Green Woodpecker and 2 Redpolls.
