Bowling Green Marsh

Walked into the hide at 11am and the first bird I scoped was the drake American Wigeon asleep on the right hand bank. As far as I'm aware this is the first time it has been seen in 2016. It stayed until 12.15pm when the whole flock was spooked and flew off( presumably back to Exminster).

Later this afternoon, following a phone call from MW saying that the Cattle Egret had flown into Bowling Green at 2.15pm, it was still on view till at least 3pm, when it and the 6 Little Egrets it was with, were still viewable from the lane before the hide on the left hand side of the marsh.
