Soussons Shrike

A morning visit to  Soussons found the Shrike just beyond the gate using the area previously overlooked by the RSPB caravan. it gave good if rather distant views, and it was very noticable that the breast ant underparts were quite grey and not qthe usual white  of excubitor. I would be interested to hear comments from other birders.

The most unexpected bird of the day was a Jack Snipe flushed from the marshy area beside the road at the entrance to Challacombe Farm.

After considerable hunting for Brambling 4 were finally seen in a large flock of Chaffinches in trees surrounding Postbridge car park.
