Walk from Pottington to Ashford Sewerage Works

Sunday afternoon stroll to see the GreenSandpiper at Ashford with John Clark, and Rob Jutsam (on bicycle) was distracted by 2 male SMEW, 1female Goldeneye, 3 Goosanders (1m2f), and 3 Gadwall (1m2f) on the river. Large numbers of Dunlin (one flock 200-250), several Sanderling (10+), Golden Plover(500+) with assorted cast of Grey Plover, Curlew, Ringed Plover (20+), Lapwing, Barwits, etc. all disturbed by a passing Peregrine. Didn't see the intended Green Sandpiper but the obilging Kingfisher brightened a grey afternoon.
