Topsham, Exeter

31 members of Devon Birds took part in the first 'fieldtrip' of the year when we divided into two groups led by Annabelle Strickland and David Jannaway.  The focus was Bowling Green Marsh and The Exe adjacent to the recreation field.  Good numbers of waders and water birds were found including 600 Avocet and c300 Bar Tailed Godwit.  The Long-tailed Duck was present off the recreation ground together with Kingfisher.  The remaining group of members moved on to Darts Farm where after lunch Brambling, 15 Golden Plover, 66 Lapwing, a number of Black Tailed Godwit and a large group of Brent Geese were photographed. (Can't upload the photo.... wish this site was easier to do so!).

Good company and birds and thanks to everyone who made this a memorable day.
