Highlight of my Grand Western Canal WeBS survey between Halberton and Burlescombe was a female Merlin perched on the crossbar of an electricity pylon at Batten's Bridge.

Other sightings included 3 Kingfisher, 2 Little Grebe, and a Water Rail.
