Slapton (and Ernesettle)

A productive visit this morning- The female Ring-Necked Duck still at Torcross viewed from the main car park in amongst a large number of Ducks, predominantly Tufted Duck and Gadwall.  Also 2 Black-Necked Grebe in front of the main hide. At least 10 Goldeneye, including 3 males, Little Grebe and the hybrid Red-Crested Pochard x Tufted Duck. On the sea, a Great Northern Diver off Torcross, and a Slavonian Grebe, Red-Throated Diver and 25 Common Scoter off the central car park. A Kingfisher by the bridge with 2 Cettis Warbler's and 2 Water Rails calling. The highlight however was the female Marsh Harrier that flew down the roadside of the Lower Ley and then watched later overhead at Stokeley Pond.

The Lesser Yellowlegs still in Ernesettle Creek, on a dropping tide, loosely with 2 Greenshank viewed from the slipway by the football pitch, east of the sunken boat.

On the way home, 15 Muscovy Ducks on the River Dart between Buckfast and Austin's Bridge.
