A trudge through a sedgy marsh on a friends farm produced 5-6 Jack Snipe and only 8  Common Snipe - not a bad ratio! I had been told there had been quite a lot of snipe that looked and flushed like Jack Snipe, many more than the land owner had seen before (normally 0- 2 per flush). After seeing the count from Bob Burridge it must be worth checking 'regular' Jack Snipe sites.
