East Budleigh Common
9 members of DB (East Devon Branch) met for the Nightjar evening last night and were rewarded with first churring at 21.50 and close sightings of a pair followed. Birds flew within 20 feet of us and also settled on a bare branch to give superb views and a chance for photography. A number of other birds were seen or heard at other locations. A Tawny Owl was heard at a distance. Weather conditions ideal with no wind and clear skies.
