Thornhillhead, North Devon

Late update on yesterday's confused young blackbird in the swallow's nest (and shall we, shan't we let nature take its course). After 7 hours of harrying by the parents and intermittently crashing around making a racket, the blackbird suddenly disappeared. The swallow’s nest is looking a bit ragged at the top but from what I can now see there are 4 youngsters apparently none the worse for the experience of being sat on and are back feeding OK. Hopefully the blackbird didn’t succumb to clattering into all the stuff in the roof space and finally made it out OK.
